when there is nothing

i hate when i feel as if there is nothing i can do. i can see people i love struggling around me but i cant think of a single thing to do for them that will help. i can pray for them, listen to them, love them, and lend a shoulder for them to cry on but i dont feel like that's enough. on the other hand i kind of feel like people dont see how good they have it. they are so blinded by the trials and hurt that they aren't even looking at how many blessings they have! my uncle is one of the 12 apostles of the LDS church Elder Todd D. Christofferson. and two years ago in February i was able to go up to salt lake city with my dad to have a meeting with him because i was in such a rut, such a low point in my life. NOTHING made me happy. and i was in such a fear that my life would never be fulfilling that i would never be truly happy, that the trials would never end that i would always be miserable in some way. that everything i was going through was just too much. and more! i was in a horrible place and i really...REALLY needed some help. so after i told my uncle all of this he told me these things which i wrote down in my journal.

◘ lose yourself in service, because when you are serving others you forget your problems and start helping other people with theirs and in God's mysterious ways that will help fix your problems. so be selfless.
my experience with this: i started helping my family out around the house more, i did more than i was asked when it came to chores for starters and it really helped my relationship with my parents. that has always been a struggle for me. but by serving them it made them happy and less stressed, it brought us closer

◘ do those things that make you happy, dont be so overwhelmed with life that you forget to enjoy it.
my experience with this: i realized i had quit doing things that made me happy! that was a huge one for me. for a while i had stopped dancing, i had stopped cooking, i had stopped hanging out with my brother, and i had stopped being outside as much (< by that i mean like outdoor activities like walking my dogs, running, 4-wheeling, camping, hiking etc. im a very outdoorsy person)
my experience with this: this was actually a hard one for me...i was just so stressed with all my problems i felt like i didnt have time for these things or i would physically and mentally exhaust myself worrying about everything that i just couldnt! it took a lot of effort for me to do these things again but it HELPED. everyone needs to step away from their problems for but a small moment and do something that makes them happy!
it makes a huge difference.

and there is more but its more personal so i would rather keep it to myself. but i know from doing these things myself that it will help! just have a positive mind. ASK FOR HELP! everyone has trials. but God knows what he is doing. have faith.
  Romans 12:12For real Pooh.
Remember who to put first. troubled waters. This works and brings so much happiness. yes.
