HEAR YOU ME

tragedy.

one of my best friends bekki campbell
committed suicide on the 16th
she lived three doors down from me and we have been best
friends for 6 years
SIX YEARS
when i first met bekki i was
SO SHY
SO QUIET
SO AFRAID
bekki was wild and adventurous and outgoing
she was the one who broke me out of my shell
because of her i am who i am today
she MADE ME ME
she taught me to be accepting and friendly
she taught me some of the most valuable things in life
bekki made me a stronger person
one thing that has always stuck with me that she would tell me
all the time is
"you can't let others make you feel bad for being you, this is me
and if you dont like it SCREW YOU!"
she would yell that where ever we were at strangers
and i laughed at it then...but now i find myself screaming
that in my head at EVERYONE at school
she taught me to be proud of who i am
and she always told me how great of a person i am
bekki always lifted others up and made them feel
WORTH SOMETHING
when the felt absolutely worthless
and no one deserves to feel that way...

bekki is out of this painful world now and in a better place...
everyone who ever knew her learned something from her
spunky attitude...i cant find words
to describe how i feel but these past few days have been
the hardest days i have EVER faced in my 17 years of life
and it has really opened my eyes
to life and its worth and friendship and family and who is
and who isn't important anymore
on sunday i left church after the first hour because
i couldn't handle it i was just too much of a mess to be there
and bekki's parents came over a few minutes later
not only did they both hold me while i ruined their sunday clothes
with mascara they were there for ME when it was their daughter
they lost they are so strong they made me laugh and
remember the good THEY COMFORTED ME!
they are the definition of strong
later that same sunday her brothers rory and ryker came over
as well and talked with me
the campbells are me second family i was over at their house
EVERYDAY!
i was their other daughter...
im so thankful they came to me to comfort me...when what they
are going through as a family is so much more than i can
comprehend...
a death so tragic opens my eyes to the world we live in and how
evil it is! high school is FULL of bullies!
i have been bullied i am being bullied!
all of you in your tight cliques you wont accept
anyone else into them you don't befriend those who could use
some friends your so exclusive!
ITS A JOKE!
im to blame as well im not perfect
but THIS IS A JOKE!
we are all human is it going to kill you to hang out with someone new?!
kids are bullied to SUCH EXTREMES AS DEATH
so think twice everyone before you turn someone away
cause they aren't your "bestie"
that may very well be their cry for help
think about it!
all these little things we do EVERYDAY
that we dont even notice are considered bullying!
like giving mean looks at some girl you don't
like cause of SOME STUPID REASON
-rumors
-glaring
-EXCLUDING
-not accepting
-judging
-ETC.
IT GOES ON AND ON AND WE DO IT EVERYDAY!
STOP IT!
mountain view students we like to think we are such
a great school and everyone is friends...are you
kidding me? thats the most bull crap i have ever heard!
we have had TWO kids who have gone to our school
take their lives! that is NOT OKAY!
reach out and stand up
DO YOU NOT SEE THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM!
lets do SOMETHING about it before another one
of our fellow students is lost as well

you hear about stuff happening like this all the time
kids committing suicide...and you
think "oh thats so sad"
thats what i always did but then it hit me
not just close to home but
AT HOME
that was my
SISTER and my FRIEND
my NEIGHBOR
and she is gone
im not okay...im a mess
if you have ever had to help with the funeral of your best friend
you can understand in a way but this
event has changed my entire life in a positive way for the most part
i see who is really there for me
you guys know who you are

think twice everyone before you reject someone
who just needs a friend

rest in peace Rebeka Eliza Campbell
may angels lead you in

bekki was the best aunt to her nephew liam
