HOME HOME HOME!!!
after taking a good long shower where i shaved my
legs REAL good cause they felt like some
balding animal i feel quite refreshed
it only took us 9 hours to get to a camp site
9 HOURS!!!
it usually doesn't take so long but this year some
FREAK
put up lots of signs saying
"no camping within 1/4 mile of established campsites"
or something like that
well CRAP cause all of our favorite campsite
are within a 1/4 mile of established campsites
so we spent
FOREVER AND A HALF
looking for a campsite that was...campable..? yeah
well the river was DANGEROUSLY high
and really dirty and fast so we couldnt river raft
cause someone told my dad
"those are class 5 rapids"
well were used to class 2...so class 5 is outta our league
so river rafting was a no go :( anyway..
so my dad picks a place in a field
next to a bunch of pine trees
it was in a bunch of grass..ya know what lives in grass?
BUGS
lots of them! death
against my moms will and mine...we set up camp
within minutes were covered in bug bites not just mosquitoes but horse flies as well
and those KILL
anyway camp is set up
day one..not very eventful
i cant remember what days we did what but
we went for a very long 4-wheel ride one day
to a trail that we hiked
to a lake
to fish!
the ride was great, the lake was beautiful and the fish stunk!
after we finished at the lake we went for a longer 4-wheeler ride
that showed us beautiful scenery(:
another day we went to a different lake
Murphy lake
the bugs were so bad my mom and i took our 4-wheelers and left
and then one night...it was friday or saturday?
my mom, dad, brother, grandma and grandpa houston and grandpa johnson
were sitting outside eating dinner when i saw a black mazda
i said "i think katie and devin are here"
SURPRISE!
they came up early cause dev got off work early!
it was such a great surprise
and sunday, while we were packing up
us girls (me, mother, katie and grandma)
were all in grandma's trailor
cause it was hot
the bugs were crazy
and we were tired of helping clean up
haha!
so there we were
listening to katie try and teach grandma how to use her cell phone
grandma was taking notes
then katie says
"i wanna know why grandpa's toes are painted green"
we all bust out laughing!
we cant stop for a good 5 minutes
katie says "grandpa came in and was changing
his socks when i noticed"
then grandma explains she says
"we were getting pedicures, like we always do"
(another round of laughter)
"and the lady asked grandpa if he wanted his nails painted, he said
no but the lady wouldn't take it for an answer, she asked what his
favorite color is, he said green, like money, so the lady said why dont
we paint your nails green then? so grandpa said OK"
(more laughter)
im STILL laughing
MY GRANDPA HAS GREEN TOES!!!
haha ooh my family
also our dog Buddy ate a stick of butter this morning

funny dog story times, our dogs are HILARIOUS
especially Buddy, who also responds to
"nobody" like "NO BUDDY!"
cause he hears that...A LOT
cause he is always causing trouble, buddy likes to make stashes
of his "treasures" every year and we always
find them while cleaning up camp
these treasures usually include
rocks
clothing
food
and the unknown
well this year buddy took
3 shoes
a hat
a feather
his own toys
and my moms glasses!
buddy buddy buddy...
then he ate a stick of butter! hahah what a freak
the dogs also liked to try and eat all the bugs bothering them
anyway
well i've been trying to kill as much time as possible to avoid my room
because i found
A GIANT
UGLY
UNWANTED
NASTY
INTRUDING
BUG
in my room
by my door
crawling up my wall
after screaming for my brother to come kill it
and after the few minutes it took for him
to destroy satan's spawn
i finally climbed in the shower
after that everything was a bug to me
a hair touching my foot
my own hair out of the corner of my eye
the sounds of the shower turning on made a humming sound
i found myself ducking and looking up
for some over sized fly
swooping down to carry me away!
oh the things Wyoming does to you
anyway its late
HEY im kinda excited now
ya wanna know why? cause i get to sleep in peace!
no more loud breathing of kyle's to keep me up
ALL NIGHT
no more dogs howling at passing deer
and no more mystery noises that make me freeze
anticipating some creature's attack on our camp
yay for being home!
